![]() ![]() It's certainly better than some of the other free offers I've had, and actually makes me feel the developers are at least competent enough to make a more solid game in the future (which is what this free offer is advertising-their newest release). In Jotun, you play Thora, a Norse warrior who has died an inglorious death and must face the challenges of Viking purgatory to prove herself to the Gods and enter Valhalla. It wasn't amazing or anything, but it wasn't an experience I regret at all. Jotun is an action-exploration game for PC and Mac that takes you on an epic journey through Viking purgatory. Meanwhile, with Jotun, it took me 3.2 hours to beat the entire game, if it took you 3 hours to get to level 2, you were definitely doing something wrong. It was offered to advertise their newest game, but just gave me an impression of not just bad game design, but also bad programming habits which would carry over into any other titles of theirs. The grunts may be sad pushovers to plow through, but Jotun (giants) like Hagalaz and Kaunan will give you a run for your glory in Valhalla. Instead of griping about it, quantify your criticisms. Jotun is a slow experience, to be sure, but its roughly 10 hours are best appreciated and savored for its artistry, rather than completed as quickly as possible. Jotun was originally released on PC last year, and the Valhalla Edition for consoles refers to a boss rush mode with tougher versions of all the enemies. ![]()
